Perpetual calendar

I'm not sure where I got the idea for this perpetual calendar. We love it.

Take a piece of poster board of any color but lighter colors work best. Mine is a 21 x 25. Use a pencil to mark off a grid. Here are the measurements:

4" - for the header

1.5" - for the days of the week

3" - for the days

The days are 3" x 3". I only have 5 weeks on mine but I have run into months where you do need a 6th week.

Take a black sharpie and trace the lines. I used a large ruler...because I like my lines to be perfectly straight...yes, I'm a perfectionist. Write in the days of the week. Then take it to your favorite office supply store, or anywhere that laminates. I go to Office Max. It only costs a couple of dollars to have it laminated.

You can then use dry-erase markers to fill in the month and days. I like to do little drawings to go with the month we're in. I also let the kids help. At the end of each month you just wipe it off and write in the new month. Sometimes it helps to use a wet cloth to clean it off, or even Windex.

Simple and cheap, my two favorite things!
