Last week was Love Bunny's birthday. He's old. That's all I have to say about that. (Name that movie). At least he's older than me and that's all that matters folks.
We had a delightful little party, just the 5 of us. The kids were so sweet with their gifts. G jr drew a picture of a motorcycle and made it into a card. He was really sad that he couldn't buy daddy a gift so he took his own football and binoculars and wrapped them up, all by himself I might add...in Transformers wrapping paper. These weren't random things, they were things that he thought daddy would actually use.
Kmac made him a little something all by herself, hiding in her room, occasionally coming out to sneak some scissors or glue. It was very thoughtful. She also added, in a tube from a roll of toilet paper, all the change she could find. She rubber banded paper to each end so the coins wouldn't fall out. She also gave him her favorite skipping rock. Her card had a foam heart on the front and said, "to The Best...Dad I ever had!" Then on the inside she put, "Dear Dad, this may not be the biggest gift, but it's the best I could do, it's meant to express the love I have for you! Happy Birthday! Love, (insert real name here). She is the sweetest, most heartfelt girl I know.
For his birthay cake, he ordered (from his favorite cake baker...me!) a round, two layer, strawberry with strawberry frosting (from the can!). Oh yeah, with sprinkles on top. Seriously. Now what's a cake decorator to do with an order like that? You can't decorate with store bought frosting. *Sigh*
So, he got what he asked for. A basic pink cake. I wanted to keep it in the fridge until we were ready but Tommi is not of the patient kind. She decided to get it out herself.

There was only minor damage. Still edible. Doesn't have to be pretty, right? It looks surprisingly similar to last year's cake, although the kids took the liberty of adding M&M's last time. And a couple strawberries. I'm beginning to see a pattern with my Shnookums and pink cake.
