I got this idea from my friend Robin who is a scrapbooking freak. I mean freak in a good way of coarse. She had made placemats out of scrapbook pages. They were so cute that I thought I'd make some for my mom for Christmas.
There is one for every grandkid, one with a "grandpa" poem and one with a "grandma" poem. So there's a total of 8.
Now Robin used contact paper for her placemats. I didn't want to bother with that though so I took mine into Office Max to be laminated. Bad choice. If I hadn't signed a waiver saying that they weren't responsible for damages, I don't think I would have paid for them. You can't really tell by these pictures but they did a horrible job. One of them even has a hair stuck in it. Gross. But after all the time, money and energy I'd put into them I just gave them as is.
I blurred out the names of my wee ones but you get the idea.

Placemat gifts
"Grandpa's" page. Notice the green and white ribbon? It was straight before I had it laminated.

Tut, I really liked the placemats. They looked like they would have been fun to make. We all enjoy reading your Blog.
