While I admit that I'm also not happy about the election, I'm also confident that it is not a surprise to God and that everything is under His control. While I don't care for the choice, I will still respect the office and refer to him as "The President".

ha! you girls are funny.

the things we do, i was kinda thinkin of "obamination." if you switch the first "o" and "a" it describes my feelings quite nicely.

tulip, i agree. let us not forget the kings in the old testament who were put into power and "did evil in the eyes of the Lord." i respect the office of presidency, just not the man that was placed there...

President Aboma

although I'm not pleased with the outcome, I have to point out that I don't think the God we serve prides himself on being republican nor democrat. Either candidate brought a vast array of good and bad to the table... And also, despite democrats occupying the majority of seats in congress, it is still not enough to make every vote a unanimous "yes" to whatever the president elect says...

further more, as was stated on NPR Monday, and every day since honestly, it was pretty irrelevant which man won the election. The president elect is walking into such a mess in re: to economic issues, military issues, national security issues (and it goes on and on) that no party could begin to repair in a mere four years. Most of Obama's socialist hopes were merely his campaigning and things he can, in no way, pull off this first term. Realistically, he couldn't in a second.
Most of the predictions being made, in regards to the reaction to both wars, his international relations, and his plans with our military are that- "predictions". We have no idea what will happen. Though McCain had a classy concession speech, I don't believe he was an ideal option either.
All of that to say that we sit at the feet of God. Our nations leaders and political agendas have strayed so far from that place that, if we speak to ourselves honestly, we have to admit that this isn't anything worse. This man isn't any less of a "good man" than you or I. Regardless of whether or not he "should be" president, he is. As Christians it is our job to show respect to his position, and to remain ever prayerful that God keep our eyes open to the truth and our hearts focussed on Him and representing the sort of believer that God wants us to be. I may not agree with everything Obama believes in, but I am not going to denounce him as a man and claim that my disagreeing with him on some things must mean that he is completely wicked or corrupt. If we viewed our leadership that way then what President/Governor/Parent/Pastor/Friend isn't?

It was a least of two evils sort of thing. Funny how people assume what you mean and then judge you on it. But I think I'll refrain from commenting on your highly controversial blog. So, consider my future silence as a desire to not be lectured. Wow, you've become popular my friend through your highly debated posts! Look forward to seeing you today!
