this year we are part of a homeschool co-op through our church. it is a much smaller group (only 5 families) than what we were a part of last year but we really love it. we are doing a study of countries. we usually meet twice a month. each family has to report on a specific topic for the country that we're studying for that class. so far we've studied china, brazil, england and uganda. it has been so much fun for me and the kids.
each class we try to come up with different ways for presenting the material that we've learned. for china we reported on government. we just made a simple poster.

for brazil we reported on housing, families and transportation. the kids enjoyed being creative with this fold out poster.
we got to do food for england. yum. the kids made yorkshire pudding to take for snack. oh my goodness are they good. i wonder why it's called pudding??
we read our reports but for fun the kids made a game called "fruits and batters." it's essentially the same as chutes and ladders except with food for the pictures. they even made little bowl, fork, spoon and cup playing pieces out of clay.

i don't have any pictures of the uganda presentation but what we did was a radio call in show skit. i was "wanda in uganda" and the kids played various characters (elvis, barak, santa, nancy drew and mona lisa) that called in to ask about religion and missions in uganda. it was fun.
stay tuned for our next study on albania. honestly i didn't even know where it was. do you know? without looking on a map?

After Firday Makenna made a fake computer and pretended to have a radio show all afternoon. It was funny how much that helped her retain the information. Thanks for being so creative!
Looks like fun. I like that the whole family goes up together...
in asia? my first guess was africa... but i'm thinking asia now. (plus isn't it the biggest contenent? that gives me better odds. that's why i'm guessing in conenents. there's only seven!)
