Second installment of cake skills

Okay you crazy cats, since you're just dying to see these....right!? You are, aren't you? Oh good. I thought I was the only one who liked to look at cake.

So, I showed you some of the cakes I made before I took classes. Here is the next set of pictures. Sorry there are so many, I've been uploading them off and on for days now and I didn't realize how many I'd done. These were all done during or after I finished the Wilton classes. Please don't be too critical, I'm still new at this game.

Again with the side upload. What is up with this???
This was my very first cake I did for class.

This is what Tommi did to my first cake. I came out to the kitchen to find she had climbed up onto the counter and helped herself. As soon as she saw me she stuck out her hand and offered me some. That's my sharin' girl!

I took this one to Misty's Christmas party.

This was the final cake of the first class. I remember seeing a picture of it on the front of the class workbook and thinking, "Oh my goodness! I could never make that cake."

My friend Jane called me and asked me if I'd make a cake for her brother's birthday...and she'd pay me ta boot! This was my first indication that maybe I could make a couple of dollars for something I loved doing. Thanks Jane!
Obviously they're not Broncos fans.

This was for Misty's daughter's birthday. The whole party was done in pink and green. So very cute.
Yes, I know I need to working on my smoothing techniques. Quit razzin' me.

Who doesn't love Bob and Larry?? I took this one to a cake walk at our homeschool co-op Christmas party. Oh where is my hairbrush? Go ahead and sing along. You know you want to.

Final cake for class 2. Basketweave is so much easier than it looks! Shhh! Don't tell.

Final cake for class 3 - fondant. What's up with all of those curly things?

Quickie throw together for mother/daughter tea at mom's church.

Yum...homemade chocolate cake with caramel mousse filling. (The icing is always homemade). Mother's day cake for G sr's mom. I could eat this all day long.

Double yum! Oh boy this cake gives me tingles. Yowzers. Made for Misty's hubby for his birthday. Yes he had a transformers party. Doesn't everyone want a transformers party?

Side view of this marvelous creation. It's an Oreo cake. Oreo cream filling with chunks of Oreo and a chocolate ganache covering. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my desk.

Practice fondant cake.

I made this for G jr's actual birthday. We went to a family riding day with our dirtbike group and I wanted him to feel special since we weren't actually having his party till the next day. Plus I got to make another cake! The picture on the cake is our group logo. I did erase his name from the pic.

Made for my cousin's baby shower. Nautical theme - in case you didn't catch on to that.

Okay, here's the famous shoe cake for Tommi's birthday party. I did "try" to cover the letters in her name that were on the purple flowers on the front of the bottom cake. I'm still working on that feature. The shoe is a high heel made from gumpaste. My first try - I could use some more practice. And fyi (because it's bugging me), the icing was actually purple until it turned blue in the sun. Note to self: icing changes color when exposed to sunlight.

Just another view.

So, there you have it. My cake making endeavors. So if any of you are needing a cake for that special occasion...or you're just a cake glutton like me, give me a jingle. You could take pleasure in knowing you've done your part to support my cake decorating adventures.
It's okay to solicit business on your blog right? Well it's my blog and I'll do what I want to. I will, I will, I will (insert stomping foot and pouty face here).

The shoe cake is so amazing, they all are. The oreo one is the one I want (minus the transformers) it looks so tasty. Do you have a hard time watching all of your hard work get consumed in a few minutes?

Seriously. I would fly up there just to buy a cake from you!! That pink and green one - the style, not colors - is exactly how I imagine the perfect wedding cake. You are soooo talented!
