I'm sad to say that this last weekend I had to put another mark on my cell wall. Yes, I turned 30-something. Again. As I reflect back I've found that I am actually wiser. Not much, but a little. What did I learn? Thanks for asking.
I guess that's all I learned. What have I been, a vegetable this whole year? Well, actually, somtimes it feels that way.
Nonetheless, we had a great weekend. Saturday we went to an old train depot that sits on a hill overlooking our city. It's magnificent; the depot, the view, the beautiful ponds and gardens that adorn the property. It's also the place where my hunka-hunka burnin love proposed to me, so it's gotta be a great place.
There happened to be a koi show going on while we were there. Okay, has anyone ever heard of a koi show??? Do you even know what a koi is? It's those orange/white/yellow fish you put in your pond out in your beautiful yard. Still not sure? Here, I'll show you.
- Never, ever, ever get a new puppy when you have a 2 year old
- Motorcycles (dirt and street) are AMAZINGLY fun
- Homeschooling is SO much easier and SO much harder than I thought it would be
- Gee
- Hmmm

Eewkay. Whatever floats your boat people.
Now, I just need to stop that. Everyone needs a hobby. I wouldn't want everyone in the world doing the same things I love. We'd all be sitting around picking our nose. Not very productive.
The kids loved looking at the fish though. When we went inside the depot they had some kind of miniture asian tree show going on. Alrightythen. So we decided to go up into the belltower and visit Quasimodo. We didn't find Quasi but we had a great view of the city.
Man I love our city. It's beautiful.
We went down to the rock gardens/ponds and took some great pictures after we did all the damage we could in the bell tower.
After the depot we needed a little treat. That means Dairy Queen. Chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard - to die for. Cherry dipped cones for the rest of the monkeys.

Then on Sunday, after church, my sweetie and I kicked back and played a little Wii. Then he wisked me off for a night on the town. That means dinner and a movie. Someday we'll break out of our date routine. We had a great time though, routine and all. An amazing T-bone steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse then The Dark Knight.
What a great weekend.
