Poddy. Sawn. Pees.

A couple of weeks ago we went up to our church family camp. I decided to run to the library before we left to get some fun CD's to listen to on the way so the kids wouldn't get bored and start fighting, and then I'd have to try to find some kind of long stick, or dowel maybe, to try to reach to the back of the van to beat them with. Anyway, I was kind of in a hurry and didn't have a lot to choose from so I just grabbed a couple. The first one was a kid's bible songs CD with a big bubble on the top saying $4.95. Well we found out quickly why it would only sell for 5 bucks. It was bad news - even for bible songs. We quickly moved on to the next one. The Beauty and the Beast soundtrack. Ahh, my heart soared. Now I must tell you that Beauty and the Beast has always been my all time favorite Disney movie. For the longest time I felt like I was Belle and I loved getting caught up in the romance of falling in love with an...ugly beast. Thankfully I moved past that before I met G sr. Have you seen how cute he is?? Anyway. The kids could only stand so much of that CD before we were on to the next. It was the soundtrack to Flushed Away. Now when I watched this movie I didn't particularly think it was fabulous but okay none the less. And being that that was about all the selection the library happened to have available, that's what we were stuck with. So I put it in and we started jamming away (G jr. is a HUGE jammer) to such songs as She's A Lady, Don't Worry Be Happy and Proud Mary. That wasn't too bad. Then we got to track 5. It's called Ice Cold Rita. It was rewritten for the movie so it's not one that you'll be hearing any time soon on the ole transitor radio. It's only about a minute or so long and my kids LOVE IT! They're favorite part goes something like this:
Poor, poor Roddy, flushed down his own potty

Rita can you find it in your heart

(insert deep baritone here) to - help - him?

Tommi just laughs hysterically when she hears it, which in turn causes us to bust a gut and almost drive off the road. The best part about it is when she sings along and does her best baritone voice for the last line. It looks like this:

...to...

...help...

...himmmm...

So now every time we get into the car Tommi yells, "Poddy. Sawn. Pees." And we smile and put on the potty song...again.

Adorable! Yes, my kids want to listen to the same songs over and over again in the car, too. Currently it's Junior's Playtime Songs, by Veggie Tales. It was only $5 too, but well worth it! :0)
