Last weekend we went to a fiddle festival that's held every year about a hours drive from our home. It was our first time attending so we weren't sure what to expect. Let me just say that apparently I didn't know exactly what a fiddle was. Yes, I realize that I'm musically challenged. I'll be the first to admit it. But it looks just like a violin! We happened to get in on the "senior senior" division of the contest. So basically it was people that are older than dirt, standing (or sitting for the really old ones) there jammin' out with their arms a flailin' and their toes a tappin'. It was quite a sight to watch. We were very impressed. But not so impressed that we stayed long. I think we might have enjoyed it more had we seen the younger crowd playing. We enjoyed our trip none the less. Of coarse there was more than just fiddling though. The whole town was a party and we couldn't leave without enjoying some of the fine delicacies to be had. We also tried on some of the local attire currently being promoted in this small community. Let's pray it doesn't find it's way out of the community!

Oh my! yes, keep those hats there, please! Regardless, it does look like you had fun. :0)
I think the basic difference between the fiddle and violin is the cost (hehe)- and the way it is held while playing it!
