I have a terrible memory. So whenever I think of it, I try to write down things that the kids say that I want to remember. Usually I just grab the closest piece of paper I can find, with every intention of putting it somewhere special like a scrapbook or something (yeah right!), and scribble with all my might. Today I was looking for a recipe and I found a little piece of paper with notes from our country study of Albania last year, a recipe for Garlic Creamed Chicken, and a little note that looks like this:
Thank you my Lord
I want to be so mean
I be so mean
I want to be mean cuz I want to
Sank you Mommy
-cuz she's my friend
-she's so not naughty
This was one of Tommi's bedtime prayers from sometime last year. That's exactly how I have it written down. I know she had said more but that's all that I could remember by the time I could get to a piece of paper to write it down.
Oh, the struggles we face with our little sinful selves. Poor girl.
On another note, here's the chicken recipe if you're so inclined to try it. I've never tried it but it sure sounds easy.
2 lb. chicken, cut into strips
1 can cream of mushroom
1 c. sour cream
1/2 package cream cheese
2 garlic cloves
Place chicken in a 9x13 pan. Combine all other ingredients and pour over the top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
If you'd like to know about the geography of Albania just let me know and I'll share those notes too. You're welcome.
